Music & performance
Two evenings and one night of state-of-the-art audiovisual performance and cutting-edge live and and DJ sets. Friday 12/05: De Brakke Grond is transformed into a dynamic festival location where sounds and images collide. Saturday 13/05: enter the deep void of Shelter for a multi-sensory concert programme, followed by a sonic club journey at Shelter is known for. Dive in.
The two-day lecture programme is an international meeting place for frontrunners in art, design and music and everyone with an adventurous mind. Expect a dense programme of keynote speakers, artist talks, informal panels and demonstrations about new developments in digital culture and the influence of technology on art and society. Meet both emerging talents and renowned makers and thinkers.
FIBER and Looiersgracht 60 are delighted to present the FIBER Festival exhibition Prima Materia, gathering the works of 16 interdisciplinary artists and designers who question and reimagine the relationship between man, technology and matter. In their attempts to speculate and experiment with the building blocks of our modern digital world, their ways of working share remarkable similarities to the centuries-old practice of the alchemists.
FIBER invites over 50 international makers and thinkers to participate in the new LAB programme: from a 4-days lab that brings together coders and dancers, a 2-day prototyping lab for data-architecture and two 1-day labs that explore bots and alchemical electronic circuits. Here a wide variety of skills and disciplines meet and merge. Apply now to work on new prototypes or experiment.
