Hannah Davis (Cancelled) (US)

De Brakke Grond

As a true alchemist Hannah Davis used algorithms to analyse the emotion in written literature and transmute it into a musical composition.

In her talk she will explain about TransProse, a literature-to-music translation program, and her recent undertakings in developing interesting datasets for art and machine learning.

Hannah Davis is a programmer, data scientist and musician based in New York. She does research in data visualization, music generation and machine learning, among many other subjects. In her project TransProse, she used software to analyse emotions in literature and transpose these to a musical composition. A concept that harkens back to the alchemists’ fascination with both transmutation and the mixing of disciplines to code secret knowledge.
