Locations
We proudly present our high quality location partners:
Vlaams Cultuurhuis de Brakke Grond
Nes 45, Amsterdam
FIBER is extremely pleased with De Brakke Grond collaboration. After years of working together and organizing several Coded Matters events together, we chose this haven of reflection, interaction and contemplation as our main festival hub.
On Friday 12th and Saturday 13th of May this arena for debate and discussion will host our FIBER Conference. Friday night 12th of May the hub will be transformed into a mysterious festival location where image and sound meet in a very special way. The visitor will be submerged in a night full of electronic live acts and audiovisual performances.
Looiersgracht 60
Looiersgracht 60, Amsterdam
FIBER is honoured to collaborate with Looiersgracht 60. Together we will present the festival exhibition Prima Materia from May 12 to May 21. The exhibition will be opened on Thursday May 11th at 17:00 to 20:00.
Looiersgracht 60 is a non-profit exhibition centre for art, design and architecture. Located in the heart of Amsterdam’s 19th-century industrial area, this former cardboard and bottling plant has evolved into a dynamic space with a thoroughly contemporary function. Embodying the productive spirit of the factory, Looiersgracht 60 seeks principally to connect ideas, approaches and methodologies from various disciplines into a select programme of relevant and thought-provoking exhibitions. With its distinct focus on the interface and cross-pollination between disciplines, the project space aims to work with research-based art projects that explore diverse issues and ideas from the humanities and the natural and social sciences.
Shelter
Overhoeksplein 3, Amsterdam
FIBER Festival and Shelter Amsterdam join forces and organize an innovative multisensory concert and club night on Saturday May 13th.
During this FIBER Festival night the visitor will be submerged in an experimental sonic experience in which all senses will be fascinated. The performance and club night is a prominent FIBER Festival component. Shelter perfectly suits the other two cultural FIBER hotspots; Vlaams Cultuurhuis de Brakke Grond and exposition centre Looiersgracht 60. There are multiple motivations for the Shelter choice. Main reason is the excellent sound system which allows a refined listening experience. Second would be Shelter’s focus on new narratives within the Techno Landscape. Next to its musical cornerstones of distinct House and Techno, the young club’s programming is set on curating sounds from the vanguard of dance music, showcasing electronica from the defining outreaches of the industry. And that’s exactly where FIBER and Shelter found each other. It’s in these outreaches where they create an evening full of new and experimental live electronica.
