Hackers & Designers (H&D) is a non-profit cross-disciplinary community of programmers, engineers, designers, and artists. H&D presents Selby Gildemacher as a manifestation of the H&D network philosophy.

Hackers & Designers (H&D) believe designers and artists should be empowered with the tools of the digital realm, including coding, and hardware usage and construction. Conversely technologists should be more comfortable and effective in engaging with creative processes through a familiarity with the vocabulary of designers and artists. All disciplines should become more comfortable in the theoretical and social discourse, and thus be asking questions such as “should we” instead of “can we”.

BIOGRAPHY

Hackers & Designers (H&D) organizes meetups where collaborative and inclusive workshops are given. In 2015 H&D launched the first H&D Summer Academy. The H&D Summer Academy offers participants a 10-day program including hands-on workshops, excursions, public film screening and a lecture program.
