Semiconductor (UK)
UK duo Semiconductor makes raw, unprocessed science data into beautiful, thought-provoking audiovisual works.
Semiconductor, consisting of sound and video artists Ruth Jarman and Joe Gerhardt, work closely with scientists and brand new technologies of recording and registering the transmutations and forming of the earth. In their film ‘Where Shapes Come From’, they follow scientists reflecting on the way atoms form matter. In ‘Earthworks’, they record and recreate the way landscape is changed by man.
